I love places like this if you love good coffee / espresso this is definitely the place to go. They know what they’re doing although it may be on the pricier side I think that’s just because of the location the espresso is worth it staff is very friendly and very knowledgeable about how to make it for me this is a must stop place if I’m in Grand rapids. You won’t see me walking away without buying some for home thank you for a delicious cup of coffee to wake me up in the morning can’t wait to come back.

This is definitely a place for authentic coffee lovers. Their espresso was incredible but I wasn’t used to the way they made the drink for what it was. No flavorings from what I could read in the menu, no added sugar or whatever either. They have a lot of options for people who want to buy whole bean coffee too! It was honestly a really nice experience but it might not be everyone’s favorite. Personally I loved it.

Nice coffee shop. I had the cinnamon latte with oat milk. Seemed to be a little cheaper than other shops. And served in a real ceramic cup. Nice vibe. Overall good spot for coffee.

My wife and I searched to find the best coffee shop in the Grand Rapids area, and I think we found it(prove me wrong). Loved the atmosphere of the shop, the varietals of coffee and the seasonal drinks. Came back for more a couple days later, had a couple of drips, a seasonal and a cappuccino. Enjoyed the coffee very much!

I’ve tried a lot of coffee in GR and this place has the best tasting espresso. I ordered a mocha and was impressed with the rich flavor of the espresso and ratio of milk. Staff was very friendly and there’s some nice lounging space.

Great little college coffee house. It was late on a Saturday night when I had a craving for an iced mocha. Of course Starbucks was closed luckily Bitter End Coffee House was able to deliver.

When I got there, I was greeted by chess players and framed pictures. It was cozy, I think I found a hangout spot when I have nothing to do late at night.

Local coffee and local appreciation. Great coffee, wifi, and owner conversation. Fun little old bank building to have a coffee and do some emails while traveling for work. Keep up the great local business!

Friendly baristas, great atmosphere, and awesome place to study day or night. Lattes tend to be quite sweet, but I love sweet so that isn’t an issue for me. Prices are great for the quality you recieve!

Internet connection has never been a problem for me here. People chat, but the noise level has never been an issue for studying or reading here. One of my favorite places in town. They learn your name and make sure that you feel welcome. I can’t recommend them enough!

Ask for a pumpkin chai latte, it’s my personal favorite.

This is a very quiet, quaint coffee shop. The baristas take their time with each individual coffee or latte. It’s worth the wait!
I’ve been writing my book here for the last 22 months!
Love my coffee house and all the friends I have made!

I love this place! I like to go with my friends to wind down after a night together. The building has good lighting and nice music. The workers are always polite and engage in light small talk. My favorite drink is the frozen chai.

Very warm and comfortable environment. Some of the best coffee and pastry I had visiting Grand Rapids. (The cheese danish changed my life.) Plus they’re always playing good music!

Fantastic vibe inside, with the perfect balance of early twentieth century architecture and modern decor. The baristas are always super friendly and their coffee is some of the best you’ll find in downtown GR.

Very nice spot, staff is friendly and made our drinks quickly, coffee tastes great. Looks like a very chill spot, we didn’t stick around but there’s lots of tables and space making it easy to get work done.

The espresso is good, ratio of milk to espresso is spot on, which made the Cortado excellent !! – Test Pass
The Ambiance is excellent, like the name , lot of cozy lights & chairs , folks can actually work from here.
    Very friendly staff !!

Authentic cappuccino, like what I enjoyed in Italy!
    So hard to find!
The space is friendly and the staff member I interacted with was friendly! So refreshing to converse with a barista instead of having that judged feeling!
Super place for friends or studying/work!

I’ve been coming here for years and they get exponentially better every time. It’s woman owned, they roast their own coffee and they have the cutest little merchandise section. They have super creative and delicious specialty drinks and their plain old espresso and coffee is delectable. The ambience (at both locations) is clean, cozy and so lovely and the baristas are so very friendly. Will always be one of my favorite spots when I come back and visit GR 🙂 (also they support local businesses and non-profits)

    Unique little place
    • espresso : strong bodied, rich espresso with a cedary tang accompanied with warm brown sugar in the finish (locally roasted by @thesparrowsgr )
    • homemade syrups 🙂
    • fun drink selection
    • @lamarzocco espresso machine
    • interior : an eclectic space filled with various large plants, delecate pink accents, and a large wall of local merchandise. This shop has a warm and cozy feel, with more dim lighting and filled space you feel wrapped in your surroundings like a warm blanket.
    • plenty of available seating with multiple types of options from an inviting couch, standard cafe tables, and bar seating, to antique lounge chairs
    • very cool outdoor seating area nestled in the ajacent alley, adorned with beautiful leafy vines and set off with adorable pink outdoor chairs
    • numerous local artisan vendors featured :):)
    • A w E s O m E plants

The Sparrows Coffee shop is so adorable and unique. You walk in and instantly feel welcomed. They have a very polite and positive staff who are knowledgeable when it comes to their menu. I highly recommend visiting this shop if you’re in the area. It doubles as a little book store too!

My favorite coffee shop!! Such a great atmosphere. Cozy and inviting.
I’ve been loving the featuring of small businesses and being able to peruse fun products while I wait for my drink.
I’m never disappointed here. My go to drink is the cardamom latte with oat milk. Such a good spot. Absolutely worth a visit.

New find…nice coffee shop with lots of space, but was crowded when I was there. Lucky I found one place left to sit. Several groups came in and left because there was no place to sit. Looks like it’s very popular place, mostly college students studying. I was there around noon. Had their americano and it was good. They have some food offerings and bagels. Another coffee shop nearby so could pick one or the other if busy. Place is clean but I did not see any masks or anyone wiping down tables, so if that’s a problem…Also , they have a printer available.

I spend a lot of time at various coffee shops around Grand Rapids, meeting with people, and I’ve never had a favorite before. A few months ago, someone I was going to be meeting suggested Roots Brew Shop, which I’d never heard of before then. Since then, I’ve come here a number of times, and I definitely have a favorite now!

The people that work here, from the owner to the employees, are kind, open, friendly, and warm, with an eye towards building community. The drinks and the coffee are delicious. I drink a lot of coffee (I need the caffeine!) but I still don’t quite like the taste, and so I usually take milk in my coffee. The coffee here, however, is rich and smooth where I enjoy the taste without anything added.

Both in terms of environment and the menu, this is an excellent coffee shop to meet a friend, get work done, and build connections with other people.

I didnt find a close parking spot as the parking spot looked full and private. I was going to ask if I could park there but I forgot. Latte was good. Batista was nice and she recommended caramel flavor. Was a cold latte and was really smooth.
