I love the Steam at Discovery place, same name, I figured same coffee quality. Nope. Not at all. I was very let down at my experience at the Steam on Broadway. I ordered a latte, and scone. The person with me placed her order too. We were staying at the cafe to drink our beverages.
You never want to serve the 10 ounce drink in a 12 ounce paper cup of you have the option right. Well, I got mine in a paper cup😳. So instead of a latte, I ended up with a Cappuccino. That wasn’t at all what I wanted. I literally had a foam mustache as it was filled with foam & milk vs the traditional milk of a latte.
I’m not sure where the breakdown occurred – if they simply used a paper cup for their convenience? If they didn’t know the difference between a Cappuccino & Latte. I was sorely disappointed in the beverage. I drank 1/4 and ditched it, won’t be back. Can’t recommend this location anyway. How can two cafes blocks apart be so totally different?
I love the ceramic cups at Steam. Not some crummy paper cup I would get from a gas station. I almost had them re-make it, but decided it’s better just not to return to this location.
    So disappointed ☹️

Artsy bohemian spot, great for working remotely, not busy and quiet. Loved the nature outdoorsy feeling even when you’re indoors. My latte could have been better but I think it’s because of the type of coffee grain they use.

Great experience. Like many in Rochester I was visiting and looking for a comfy atmosphere to detox. Cafe Steam was inviting, comfortable and easy to relax with a delicious beverage. I will be back next time I’m in town.

Cafe Steam is consistently a great vibe with fabulous beverages. I usually get a delicious oat milk Latte. Today, the Chai Latté was my jam!

Love Caribou, love getting before a night shift. Never get my drink wrong and have had good experience with staff. Usually use the drive thru and they are prompt and usually doesn’t take long to get my drink once it has been ordered. Thanks I appreciate you caffinating me before a long night!

Very friendly staff super patient with a coffee novice. The beverages and food were good. The beverages outshined the food. The experience was fast but not rushed I will be back.

Always get the dark roast with cream. Hubby likes the Caramel Macchiato. Both satisfied and very yummy. Service friendly and pleasant.

This is the second comment I have sent to Caribou Coffee customer relations in the past two weeks. When I submitted the first comment on the web page, it was indicated I would hear from a representative, therefore this is my follow up since no response has been received. Then we used email from local comments here… nothing still. What about public relations guys?

Recently my partner who is a Caribou Coffee Member, and I went to the Civic Center location one evening and ordered 2 espresso coffee served in mugs, with the steamed milk in a separate mug. The young barista whose name I later found out is Siera took our order. She filled our order and gave us paper cups. It is important to us to have coffee served in mugs. When addressing this, she remade the coffee and did place it in mugs. At this time she handed me a paper cup with milk. I asked for the milk in a mug. At this time she raised her voice, shouting so as to alert all of the other customers, and shouted at us, “I AM NOT GOING TO WASTE A MUG ON YOU!”. I was shocked, and asked to talk with the manager. She then informed us that she is the manager.
After drinking my espresso, and thinking about this encounter, I became more and more concerned about the lack of training and her insulting comments. Shortly, a staff member came to our table and apologized for her, and said she has had a bad day! I am a 77 year old, professional and certainly do not deserve to be addressed in that manner. Before leaving that evening, I asked to speak to the manager, she came out and I said she had one last chance to apologize before I left. She said she was sorry for what she had said. That was a good beginning, she however needs to attend training seminars in public relations and customer service.

After recently moving to Rochester, we have visited most all of the Caribou Coffee shops in the area, and decided that this location and OTHER staff have been pleasant. We have afternoon/evening coffee there most days because of the comfortable setting. When returning to the store, Siera is generally there, either working the counter or drive thru. When she spots me/us entering, she quickly disappears into the other room so as not to see or talk with us. If I could give high grades to the other Staff I would. If I could give the manager a grade she would be returned to the training classes.

I ordered ahead on the app at 550am, arrived at 6am and there was no one there! I waited in the order line for someone and no one came so I went ti the window and waited another 5 minutes giving the benefit of the doubt maybe emergency bathroom break or something but still no one… so basically they took my money and didn’t give me what I paid for. I called several times between 630 and 730 and never got an answer. This is actually the second time this has happened to me at this location tho the first time I didn’t order off the app.. site said it opened at 530a I was there at 6 and no one was there-

Finding local cafe closed on Mondays got us wandering over to the nearby coffee shop. Besides the expected freshly roasted, brewed classic and specialty coffee, tea, smoothie drinks and baked goods, a breakfast and lunch menu was available. Our Ham & Cheddar Quiche was a nice slice of cheesy, tasty egg bake with chunks of ham and flaky crust. Our choice of side was soup, salad or fruit and we enjoyed the grapes, pineapple and cantaloupe. Supposedly served with toast or house bread, we got a plain bun. We also enjoyed their daily vegetable soup that was thick with mixed pasta, chunky carrots, tomatoes, corn, celery in a lightly salted broth. That too included a plain bun and crackers. Outdoor seating got us enjoying the beautiful day.

main point: caramel pecan French toast

listen…i absolutely LOVE this place. i tell everyone that they have the bench French toast in town, specially the caramel pecan French toast. it is by far my favorite place to eat breakfast or maybe even any meal in town, and that’s saying something because i love food. seriously, you HAVE to try the caramel pecan French toast. such a great portion size for such a great price. go do your tastebuds a favor! and eat local!

Kind of a confusing location. The menu is shared with the restaurant in the same building. You pull forward for the Dunn brothers window and drive around to the other side for the restaurant window.
I’m sure for locals, it is very convenient. For an out of towner like me it was just confusing.
First time at a Dunn brothers and I learned that the infinite black cold press coffee is incredibly bitter. Won’t try that again! Perhaps I’m more of a cream & sugar style coffee drinker.

I haven’t eaten any of their sandwiches yet but clearly I enjoyed their donuts the two weeks I was in town. They were delicious and had fun flavors. If you love donuts this place is for you!! The staff is great and always friendly! Their coffee and donuts are a great combination for me and my mornings. Last thing I did before I left town was make sure I left with some donuts. Don’t worry though it’s like what Arnold Schwarzenegger always says “ I’ll be back!” 🍩

I really had a good experience at this delightful little coffee shop. It’s a cute house, converted into a coffee house. Please park in front or across the street. Not at the car wash, or businesses nearby.
The options for coffee and tea are many. I didn’t try the donuts, but they looked amazing. They are served several days a week, Wednesday-Sunday. My guess they sell out early.
We had the grilled cheese, very good. Highly recommend it. Many vegan options, on the menu.
There is an outdoor seating area for Summer. Can’t wait to return in the nice weather.
The inside decor is fun. Several walls made me giggle. The bathroom is unique as well. It’s different in the best was from all the other local coffee cafe. They are often at the farmers market in the summer, selling coffee. It’s actually where I had their coffee first from the coffee bike.

I am not a vegan myself but this food was delicious and healthy. The atmosphere is groovy and colorful.

We came at an odd time so the place only had a couple of customers. It is perfect to either come for a casual lunch or alone to be by yourself. They have donuts and beers.

After the meal I felt better about life in general. Unique place in Rochester, IMO.

Impressive vegan restaurant! The service is great and the food is so good. The prices are reasonable and the portions large. I ordered many items and enjoyed eating the Bahn Mi and the BLT the most. The grilled cheese was good and the giant spring roll was indeed giant. I wish I could go back and get more.

Wonderful service! Unfortunately, my mocha is about 4oz short on the top (ordered a large – 20oz). Also, it’s surprisingly sweet. I don’t taste the espresso, which is a bummer. Probably won’t be back.

Best coffee shop in Rochester! They have great customer service and even better coffee! You have not lived until you’ve had their Jamaican cold brew. Special shout out to Julia, who makes the best protein shake in town and always does it with a smile. She definitely deserves a raise, A BIG ONE.

I ordered a certain coffee and the young lady at the window said, oh we just stopped making that one today, so I ordered a different one, it was super sweet at the bottom when I took my first sip, after I stirred it, it was ok but was only filled to little over half way. I won’t be returning to this one, I’ll stick to the Moka on Broadway St. I had a better experience there and the coffee was great.

I can’t come here often because I don’t live in MN, but when I come to town I do come here. It is so good. I ordered blended, black and white. They have the most amazing whipped cream.
