This was such a unique, quaint coffee house. They have an amazing selection of treats – including cookies, brownies, danishes, and pastries. The also have breakfast and sandwiches that looked delicious. We got some wonderful lattes and a cream cheese danish and some cookies that we thoroughly enjoyed. Seating inside is limited but they have a beautiful little courtyard to enjoy outside. I definitely recommend seeking this neat spot out if you are in the area.

A Euro coffee/dining spot! I really don’t know what to call this place. It was excellent food. And the coffee was great! But the atmosphere was very European and it was completely comfortable.

This is the kind of place you want to become a regular. It was busy, but the line moved quickly.

It gets a little hectic because you’re grabbing your drink coffee shop style standing at the end of the long display case area. The barista brings it out and sets it on the side. The water is self-service. If you order a juice they put that out in the coffee delivery area. Then a little later your food will show up.
So you’re kind of hanging out waiting for your stuff. And there’s a lot of activity!

But all that aside, the food was excellent, the coffee was hot and savory!

The icing on the cake for this place is really the outside patio area. They have an inside area but I didn’t get a good look at it. Looks clean and neat.

The outside dining area is a wisteria covered patio with vines and planters. Little birds flitting around looking for crumbs… Felt like I was dropped into France or Italy. The stucco walls and big lanterns all give it a European feel.

It’s a really nice spot for a morning conversation or to catch up with friends.

There are a couple of 30 minute parking spots so you can pull in and grab something. There is on street parking and a small parking lot as well.

I would recommend taking a stroll down to the sculpture garden that overlooks the river area. If you have any coffee left take your cup and go for a walk.

A true treasure to stumble upon! The cutest little coffee shop with such a nice relaxing atmosphere. Very reasonable pricing and satisfying product. We had the white mocha and the caramel macchiato. Even in the winter, the greenery was beautiful. It was a lovely place to have pictures of my friend made! 🖤

The ambiance gets a 5 star. Located in the art district of Chattanooga, it is so gorgeous! I would give the coffee a 4-star, I’ve had better, but I would still go back and enjoy another. They also sell food here, I will be back to try out the breakfast.

Absolutely perfect location— outdoor seating on a large patio with beautiful greenery. The pastries and breakfast sandwiches we had were unbelievably good. The coffee was good as well— just not particularly memorable (decent options but nothing too unique— I consider it pretty average as far as coffee shop coffee goes).

Great coffee and food spot. The coffee and lattes did not disappoint. Coffee was well balanced and the turtle latte was tasty not to sweet. The espresso was well balanced as well. We got the charcuterie board and our kids got the grilled cheese. If you you bring kids they have great options for them to eat. Highly recommend stopping in and trying them out.

Great coffee shop with a nice selection of breakfast and lunch items. I had the French toast and it was good, not great. They could step up their game by using fresh cut brioche instead of sliced
This would give it a more homey taste. Great cappuccino!

DO NOT KEEP READING REVIEWS!! GO EAT HERE!!!! My wife and I first visited the Frothy Monkey on our anniversary last year. It was such a great experience that recently we were in Chattanooga, with our entire family this time, and we knew we had to take everyone here. Everyone was blown away by the coffee, extremely delicious and fun food options, and great service. The atmosphere here is fun and very modern. I can’t recommend this place enough as a great breakfast option, the best in Chattanooga I would say.

Workers were really friendly and attentive. The coffee was absolutely amazing (speaking as a former barista)! The food was fresh and delicious and 3 of us ate for $14.

Sat at the bar and the person who helped me was amazing. The coffee was great. But the food was awful. I ordered a California, bread and bacon were burnt and tough to cut/chew. Everything was separated, like the avocado was not on the bread but on the side as well as the sprouts and salaa. It was just very odd to me.

A beautiful modern garden full of delicious pastries. I wanted one of everything, but I ordered a Turkey and Goat Cheese sandwich, sweet tea, and a chocokate croissant. The food was amazing and the tea was the best I have ever had. I prefer my tea just slightly sweet. It was very busy when I went, but they got my food out within 15 minutes at the absolute most.
Parking is available next door (for 10 to 15 minutes), but there is street parking or paid parking nearby.

I included pictures of my food. You get a lot more chips than shown. I ate them before I took the picture.

Loved our breakfast here! Something so simple as avocado toast tasted spectacular. The coffee is perfect and the pastries were so worth it. Despite being so busy, everyone was super friendly and the wait was not terrible. We will definitely be back!

I would give this place six stars if I could. They bake all their own bread and pastries and they do it with imagination and absolute perfection. The sandwiches and sweets they make with their breads are just incredible. Each item I ordered (avocado toast for breakfast and club sandwich for lunch) was outstanding. The vibe is buzzy, helped with great coffee, kombucha and a fire pit outside. They are closed on Sundays which I totally understand because it’s clear every single person who works here loves the place and works incredibly hard with crazy baker-hours and needs a day of rest so they can do it all again the next week!

Hands down one of the best bakeries around. From the moment you walk in the door, to the first bite, to the last; the entire experience is exceptional. Parking is validated inside, which is a huge courtesy downtown. If you go, try a cruffin. You won’t be disappointed!

Niedlov’s Cafe is a fantastic place to grab breakfast. The atmosphere is great and the prices are affordable. My breakfast cost 9 dollars and coffee 3. Just expect to have to wait in line as it is a popular and busy place!

Delicious, quick breakfast spot! This was my go to spot after being on vacation in TN for a week. One of the best biscuit sandwiches I had while in town. Not only was the food great (bagels, biscuits, cinnamon rolls, etc.) but the service was great.

Finally checked this place out during one of my bi-monthly excursions to Chatt. Their London Fog is among the better ones I’ve had, along with being served at a very acceptable temperature. The Alice is a big win, especially when one adds bacon. Portions are reasonable and you would definitely get plenty of bang for your buck. The overall vibe is laid back and definitely a hipster joint. The service at Mean Mug is amenable and overall experience is not stressful in the slightest. There were several dogs that other customers brought with them, so if you’re an animal lover you’ll get even more out of this experience. Highly recommend this low-key establishment.

Went on a Sunday morning around 10am. Easy street parking (free). Not much of a wait to order and got a table right away. Prices were very reasonable. I had the peanut butter toast (very good) and an iced latte (nothing to write home about). My boyfriend got the breakfast biscuit – he said it was OK.

Wonderful coffee shop in a nice part of Chattanooga. I got the peppermint latte, my wife got the lavender latte. The lavender was phenomenal. Smooth as silk and not too sweet. The peppermint was also very good, and also not too sweet. I highly recommend checking them out if you want some great coffee.

Unimpressed with the service and food. I placed a to go order and the girl who took my order said it would take 15-20 minutes. I come in around 15 minutes after I place the order and I pay for the food and she says it’ll be another 10 minutes. I end up sitting at a table waiting for them to be done. I end up checking in again and a girl said she would check for me and she tells me it’ll be another 10 minute.
At this point I have waited 40 minutes for an everything bagel with some eggs and a side of potatoes, and a breakfast combo that included a biscuit, eggs, grits, and a sausage. I check in one more time and the girl seems annoyed that I am asking once again, and I AM ANNOYED at this point. It was steady in the store at this time, but people who have come in after me and placed their coffee and food order while I sat there waiting for my to-go food had gotten all their food and eaten it in the span of me sitting there. Not once did they check in or tell me “hey we forgot your order, we’re working on it.” Or “hey it’s really slammed and the kitchen is backed up.” I would have understood instead of asking so many times. At the 50 minute mark I went up and asked if I could go ahead and get a refund, and the girl that had ignored me and told me to wait “another ten minutes” sees me asking for a refund and basically throws the bag on the counter. I grabbed it and left, just to see they didn’t add the jam nor any ketchup. Potatoes were Luke warm and not very good. Bagel was alright; it’s hard to mess up a bagel. The biscuit was dry. Eggs looked nasty. Would not recommend.
Included pictures to show what 50 minutes of waiting for food looked like.

Brilliant cafe on the North Shore strip. It’s the perfect alternative to Starbucks and a great choice compared to the other coffee shops in the area. Stone Cup offers a generous mural-ized menu that includes vegan options.

The vibe is relaxed with big comfortable sofas, exposed brick walls, local art, and Edison string lights. The view from the second floor is great, too, and overlooks the Tennessee River, the walkable Walnut Street bridge, and a portion of the South Shore.

Parking is available in the back and on the street.

where would i be without stone cup? on cold winter mornings, you can head upstairs to the quiet area and bask in the giant windows that let the sun in but keep the weather out. i finished a big old paint by numbers project here!
the tea selection is fabulous, big food favorite is the power oatmeal (only $4.50). they have a cup discount too, so bring your own cup in for some extra cents off your order. a lovely view of the walking bridge, the river, and the downtown area.

Nice little coffee shop downtown, by the walking bridge. It has a upstairs seating area with couch and seats, also has outside seating area and is on the second floor!
