A nice place with a lot of choices.
I really liked the White Chocolate Truffle Latte. They are very nice and they also have a lot of pastries that simple looked delicious.
The Espresso wasn’t the best but the rest was very good.
I also really enjoy the environment and the design of the place. It is by far my favorite coffee place to go when in Cincinnati.

This is a don’t miss coffee spot in Cincinnati. We stayed in financial district but this was a very short drive or streetcar ride if you are vacationing here. Fantastic roasts and food selections, wraps, baked goods, yogurts, juices and quiches as well as specialty coffees, teas. I loved the espresso. Plentiful seating for singles, families, groups. Must go for breakfast. Line moves fast.

Such a cool/cute coffee shop! The staff really seemed to be loving their jobs and the lattes were delicious! Can’t go wrong here and they sell aluminum bottled water which was so good on a hot day in Cincinnati. Nice outdoor seating available as well

What a really cool place to grab a coffee and a small breakfast. The vegan cinnamon coffee cake cupcake was delish!! And both their iced coffee and hot are great!

As a first-time visitor to the great city of Cincinnati, I was thrilled to find such a cute, welcoming coffee shop. I loved it so much I visited 3 times during my one-week stay. The manager, Chance, was so friendly, and we had a good chat; he even remembered me when I stopped by again.

Definitely get the gluten-free banana nutella muffin. I still daydream about it! Also, if you’re a mug collector like me, they have a wide selection of beautifully designed mugs that are such a delight!

I moved away from Cincinnati a few years ago, but this still remains one of my favorite coffee shops! I love the indoor space as well as the outdoor. The most recent visit I got to bring my puppy and he did really well in the provided shade.

I’ve had several of their drinks and pastries and have had only positive experiences! I also came here to study while I was in college and they have a great atmosphere for that as well when they’re not too busy.

I love this coffee shop! This particular location is best visited on a beautiful day so you can take advantage of their large patio, since there is little to no seating indoors.
The patio in the back is nice and shaded by large trees and lush greenery.
The side patio has multiple tables with umbrellas and super comfortable.
There are also some tables in the front, right next to the street. Just perfect for people watching.
Coffee is great. My favorite drink is the Brew Hoo (Half coffee and half chocolate milk).
One of my favorite coffee shops in the city!

I have been going to Coffee Emporium for years now and have had nothing but good experiences. Only to be let down and be treated unfairly by this business one Sunday afternoon. I arrived to Coffee Emporium right before they closed and got to the door exactly at 4:00 PM. At first I tried to open the door but it was locked. I was confused because I had no idea they closed at 4 pm and should have checked beforehand. One of the workers putting things away looked through the glass and mouthed to me “sorry we’re closed”. I had no issue that they were closed, and just walked back to my car. As I am in my car looking for another coffee shop to go to, my boyfriend and I witness this Caucasian lady with a stroller walk up to the door not realizing they are closed as well. As we sit there, we witness her look at the door and flail her hands up theatrically disappointed they were closed. Someone comes up to open the door and very happily takes her order. We see her hand the guy the money and soon after she receives her drink. The concerning thing for me is the fact that Coffee Emporium decided that it was okay to pick and choose who they decide to serve based on how the customer looks. I feel like there was an unconscious bias happening in deciding who got service in that moment. I do not understand why me arriving right at 4 pm causes me to 1. not only get no one to physically come up and talk to me, 2. Not place an order BUT when a Caucasian lady comes up to the door minutes after me, she gets served with great customer service. Truthfully I am beyond disappointed in this business. I have contacted the manager about the issue and talked to Sam/Samantha (said manager), and was told that their policy is no one after closed gets served and would be contacted back, after they looked into the issue. I gave them about 1 to 2 weeks to get back to me and still no response. This just proves that they do not care about certain issues and favor a specific clientele. I will not be returning to this place ever again and will be supporting more inclusive local coffee shops.

My favorite coffee shop in Cincinnati! Their coffee is always consistently good no matter what you get. They also have great service, yummy bites and a cool atmosphere! 👍☕ This is also my favorite location. It’s inside of an old house with a large seating area upstairs and there’s a really neat patio out back with a rad viney pergola.

great coffee! I like that they have a nice little outdoor seating area and I have always had friendly and quick service

It gets pretty crowded in here quickly because the building is pretty small and feels a bit crammed with stuff. which is my only small complaint.

they also have a nice selection of coffee beans ground (or whole) however you want and some coffee supplies. Pour over, filters, chemex etc.

the baked goods I’ve had here have also been good,

I love Deeper Roots Coffee! This shop in Oakley is pretty small. Met a friend here at 9:00 and within the hour it was so crowded and loud that I felt I was practically shouting to be heard across this table. I guess in a way this is a good thing — it means the place is popular! However, if you’re looking for a place to study or meet up with someone, this may not be the best option, especially on weekends. I often buy my beans from them though and love to drink the coffee at home ❤️☕

We love this coffee shop. The people are always friendly and most importantly, the espresso drinks are on point. Flavorful, great foam on the cappuccino and with some latte art to boot.

Deeper Roots is a great independent coffee ☕ shop. One of my favorite things is a unique coffee drink. And I really love their honey 🐻 bear latte.

I tried the iced vanilla latte. It was subpar and the vanilla tasted artificial. I’m more concerned about the lack of customer service when I went into this establishment. I was standing and waiting for about 5 minutes before anyone greeted me or asked me what I wanted. The two baristas were more concerned with laughing and trying coffee with one another, instead of servicing a paying customer. I don’t think I’ll be back.

This great Northside coffee shop has the best patio and a pretty good selection of pastries (including some savory ones). I went around noon in a Sunday and there was a line, but it moved fast.

The prices are cheaper than other places or at most average. There’s decent indoor seating, but check out back to enjoy your brew and a fun painted fence in the sun (or under the shade of a table umbrella).

Super nice place, great staff, has a great selection, and the coffee as well as all the treats are very good. By far my favorite coffee shop across Cincy and always worth the drive, even if you live across town. The space in the back to sit is very nice, and the little outside area is very nice and well decorated. The place just has a nice vibe to it. Couldn’t complain if you paid me.

Super cute shop, very friendly baristas and great coffee. The Yin Yang Mocha was super tasty!

Atmospheric “cool” coffee house with hand pies! However, the hand pies do not have a traditional thick pie crust, but a light and flaky crust 🙁

A five place to get coffee and a muffin but very limited seating. Don’t plan on staying.

Normally, I have great experiences here – I buy my coffee, no problems, and have ALWAYS tipped when I’ve gone. I am a frequent visitor of this coffee joint (maybe twice a week) – and again, have ALWAYS tipped. Last night, I spent the $6 on a cup of cider, and Rob (or Ray, whichever one has the long hair) simply dropped it off at my table. No issues, everything was fine.
An hour or so later, I walk up to check out and decide not to leave a tip – which is my own decision and which is perfectly acceptable. I’m then standing around my friend’s table, saying goodbye, when Ray waves my receipt around and says, “By the way, we only make $3 an hour – so tips are appreciated. If you had friends who were servers you would know that.”
I was speechless – this was probably the rudest customer service I’d ever had. I am livid about this – literally enough to make me never want to go back. If I’m going to tip, I’m tipping for receiving good and KIND service – which I did not receive last night. I couldn’t believe he called me out in front of everyone for my own financial decision.

Very disappointed I have to leave this review, but I’m disgusted he hassled me for a tip for what was already a $6 drink. This staff needs to learn how to quite literally just be kind to their customers – before they lose all of them.

Great indie vibe. Huge beer list, boozy coffee drinks, and great looking desserts.
It’s hard to find a genuine coffee house (90’s style before Starbucks made it trendy).
Bartender/Barista was cool and the place stayed busy without being crowded.
    Ancient building with wood floors/panels.
    Highly recommended.

An ethnic place with #tasty cappuccino. Opens 5pm till 2:30am daily, nice for late hangouts. No friendly staff on Tuesday evening though.

Upon entering the coffee shop, the atmosphere was great. My friend and I went together to sit down and get some homework done. When we sat down we were greeted by the barista/owner, so we tried to make a simple conversation. A simple, “how’s your day going”, we got responded with “I don’t have time to talk about that. what do u want to order”. First of all, rude. We got our drinks, an iced vanilla latte, and a cream soda float. The cream soda was fine, but made with Kroger brand ice-cream, absolutely not worth $7. The latte was so overly sweet with vanilla, it was disgusting to drink. While going to pay, my friend did not tip, as she did not enjoy her beverage, nor the snarky remark made by the barista. He then proceeded to confront and shame her for not leaving a tip, saying something related to “we aren’t payed hourly, only by tips. So when you don’t tip, I make no money, when you sit here for 3 hours. Ask your server friends, they will tell you”. In our opinion, tips are DESERVED, not expected when going into an establishment. This is not the first incident we’ve had here, but I can easily say we will not be returning.

The people complaining are more than likely upset because they wanted to take up space for 2+ hours, with their 6 friends and only order 1 thing. This is a small locally owned coffee shop. Please be considerate of people working in service and remember they do not live and breathe to serve you.

The owner has been nothing but nice, accommodating and respectful. I have been coming here for 2+ years.
