Every now and then, I like to check out a new coffee shop, especially if it has a unique design. The ambiance at this café was excellent, I would give 10/10. The food is decent. I tried a hummus, pita and coffee. which were tasty. I would definitely stop by this location whenever I’d be in Vermont to experience again this cafe’s vibes.

In attached picture you can see:

    1) Vanilla Latte
    2) Cappuccino

I love this place! It feels like I am on an acid trip with all the weird colorful statues. Also if feels like I am in a log cabin, maybe both an acid trip in a log cabin? Coffee and tea are S tier! Very delicious.

Great coffee, friendly staff, and good bagel options were a plus. Nice environment to work in, but there’s no Wi-Fi which was surprising. Ended up having to use a hotspot, which is fine, but they mentioned some of their patrons use Nectar’s free wifi which seemed odd. Overall, would recommend, just maybe not for working while you enjoy your morning coffee.

Muddy Waters has always been such an amazing local coffee shop and we missed it terribly during quarantine but it’s back and with a fun new twist- it’s full of quarantine monsters!!! You have to go just for the art installations. There have been 3 monsters out front for a while but there must be around 10more unique monsters inside!

Additionally, Muddy’s is still serving some delicious coffee, lattes, and espresso drinks as well as a range of unique and delicious looking pastries, breads, and bagels. The bagels are always really fresh and not too chewy (you HAVE to try the spinach and everything bagels). LGBTQ friendly, local, and with so many delicious options, Muddy Waters is a Burlington cafe you need to stop by whether you are a local or just visiting!

Nice ambience, good selection of coffee and tea. I highly recommend the Muddy Shake since it’s something you can’t really get anywhere else. They’re also open till 6pm which is late by Burlington standards. I just wish they also had outdoor seating.

Upon walking into this place, I got a warm and relaxed feeling from the the layout of the cafe. The large garage doors opening up to the outside makes it feel like a true gathering place for the community. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and felt that the portion size did not match the price. The bun also reminded me of the same type of bun I would get on a McDonald’s sandwich. I also got some drip coffee to go. If you’re looking for a fresh brew I would recommend checking out an actual coffee shop. There are plenty around burlington. Overall, this place does deliver on a fresh, local bakery experience.

Excellent little local bakery and breakfast shop! We ordered a biscuit and the Eat the East breakfast sandwich with tofu instead of egg and impossible sausage. Both things were delicious!

The biscuit came with maple butter and a local fruit jam which paired wonderfully.

The sandwich was a very heavy breakfast and I was happy to share. The flavors were fresh and really complemented the sausage and tofu.

Highly recommend trying this restaurant if you’re in the area! Locals lined up 10 deep before they even opened the door, that’s how you know this place rocks!

August First is the perfect breakfast spot in Burlington if you’re looking for a chill vibe and excellent food and service. The avocado toast is out of this world. So much avocado, topped with pickled onions and everything bagel seasoning. I appreciate the signage to not use laptops was the best remainder to be present in the moment. Don’t forget to buy some pastries on your way out!

We stopped here for brunch. There was a line that moved quickly, but they were out of the polenta that I wanted. I ended up getting a Day Maker (?) And hubby got pulled pork and egg sandwich. Mine was just okay and he liked his except the pork was too fatty. The place was really busy, but not sure we would come back. The mocha coffee we had was the best coffee we’ve had on this trip.

The maple biscuits are to DIE for and I recommend to all on a weekly basis! Nice lighting and decent seating all around. Line is kind of in the middle of the place and pick-up counter is often a squeeze of a fit. Still, good breakfast sandwiches, lattes, and salads!

We came here for the farm markets and met this local coffee store. People did not stop coming in. The business was good. I had hot chocolate+coffee while my wife had maple syrup flavored coffee…. It’s a good rest spot for the relaxing atmosphere for your leisure time….. Recommended….

Went here on way to downtown Burlington. Nice baristas. Got some advice about where to eat downtown. The coffee in my opinion isn’t the greatest. Good atmosphere though.

They’re a bit out from downtown but not very far. I saw another one of these coffee shops as well in another city in Vermont so it seems like a chain.

From one coffee shop to another. This place did not disappoint. A must stop if you’re in Burlington Vt! Great coffee and latte drinks. Large selection and extremely fair prices.

Pretty reliably good coffee, quiet space, good deals on mug refills if you’re sticking around, really cool plants. They also always have a selection of drip coffee which is appreciated. They’re maple roasted iced coffee is also awesome if you wanted something a bit sweet but still want a black coffee.

The new bags are terrible. I buy and grind in the store. The new bags cannot be resealed after they are opened. And speaking of opening them – the last one I bought today (12-22-2022) would not open more than halfway. Terrible idea. This is my last S & E purchase after buying Sumatra Mandheling for years. There are other coffees in the sea… Chose one star to be allowed to post this – otherwise ZERO stars for this bag.

A beautiful espresso bar with rotating high-quality coffee and espresso, served by professional, knowledgeable, technically competent and detail-oriented staff. A beautiful cafe to work in, and above all a wonderful place to truly appreciate how distinct and stunning well-prepared coffee can be. A must visit if you’re interested in coffee, or interested in becoming interested.

Best coffee in the US yet found! We’re from the UK, nearing the end of a two-week tour of NY and Vermont. Best coffee so far, including Brooklyn.

I was sad not to meet the owners: I see from the website that in the past, founder Jason worked at my absolute favourite UK coffee shop, Colonna and Small. However, the coffee absolutely does not disappoint. Make this place a destination when you visit Burlington!

A very neat coffee experience, it’s amazing how coffee tastes when it’s made thoughtfully. I appreciate the detailed descriptions of each roast and the helpful suggestions from the barista. Lots of space to sit and sip.

Wonderful espresso options with natural hints of berries, nuts, or fruits. I love the environment and baristas just as much as their cappuccinos.

Such a kind and wonderful staff who make the best coffee and coffee drinks in Burlington. Wonderful rotation of specialty beans and the descriptions are accurate and helpful as well (even have a “flavour notes” section for how adding milk to each coffee changes it!). A place I go back to every time I’m in town. One of my Burlington “musts”.

Such a cute coffee shop right near the outdoor walking mall in Burlington. I got a maple cappuccino which was incredible. Service was quick. The wifi was fast and there were plenty of spots to sit and get some work done on a laptop! I enjoyed the general vibe of the coffee shop and all the art work on the walls was visually stimulating! Definitely recommend if you are in the area 🤩

The best coffee and pastries!!! We had the scone and maple oat donut and they were so do good. This place had the best coffee that I had over my whole trip (and I tried a lot of coffee). The decor was beautiful as well. They have old pillars and local art displayed on the walls.

First impression; very cool vibe. Best Maple Latte! Tried their dark roast. The best cup of coffee I ever had! The staff is awesome! A solid reflection of the owners values. Respectfully safe!

Great coffee, decent baked goods, relatively cheap prices. The quality was good overall and I expected it to be more money. We only paid about 12 dollars for 2 hot drinks and an oatmeal cookie which is fair. Not my favorite coffee shop in all of Burlington but a great stop if you are on church street and need coffee. The wait was about 8-10 minutes. The atomosphere was busy with few open spots to sit so we took our drinks outside.

One of my favorite spots to hang or work downtown! They are dog-friendly, and my dog has been working on her human socializing by bringing her to Kru. Great and friendly team, amazing coffee. Can get busy and hard to find a seat at times, but worth waiting around for a bit to snag one 🙂
