This is such an amazing coffee place! There are lots of fresh coffee bean choices, and this was the first time that I could choose a coffee bean for my coffee drink. Very delicious latte with Ethiopia Yirgachaffe

Just-the-right-amount-of-friendly staff. There’s such a thing as too friendly before I’ve had morning coffee, but these folks were just right. Excellent coffee and ambience too.

Great place for a good cup of coffee. The place is small, but clean, and the staff is friendly.

There are a lot ofemu options, so there is something for everyone.

Super cute space with delicious coffee and baked goods. Kind of a small space so not really somewhere you’d want to work for any period of time, but definitely a good options to take a quick meeting or stop in if touring Detroit.

If you’re looking for that grunge, hipster vibe, this is def the spot. The baked goods and the coffee slap. The service is also welcoming, knowledgeable and eager. 👍🏻

One star off only because it is a pretty dirty cafe and the bathrooms are gross. Hygiene is important, even for postmodern hipsters 😅🤢

Nice cozy coffee joint on Griswold! It had a lot of traffic in and out, which shows they’re a popular business! I ordered the Peach White tea on ice, and my business partner ordered the Caramel Chai Latte. Both drinks were enjoyable! Mine was not sweet, but it wasn’t bitter either! I will be visiting again to try other menu items!

This place has a lot of nice options for coffee roasts. They don’t roast at this location but you can certainly tell they know coffee well. If you buy fresh beans you also get a free pour over. I always appreciate a nice gesture like that by any coffee shop. They also have a nice selection of fresh pastries if you’re looking for a snack. Definitely, give this place a tree if you have the chance. I am Excited to pop open my fresh bag of beans!

I’ve been to this place a couple times when I was in downtown Detroit and I really like this place! The first time I came here I got a peanut butter cookies with a iced venti cold brew(I think that was the drink) and a chocolate chip cookie with a iced espresso which was really good. Overall I do recommend this place if you are looking for a place to get coffee or pastries in downtown detroit.

(Plant-based reviewer) This place was amazing! Beautiful, unique building – it just had a really great feel to it, I’m guessing because it used to be a church 😊 I had the chickpea sandwich which was delicious. I heart dill and they use an excellent multi-grain bread and fresh lettuce and tomatoes. They also offer a veggie sandwich and avocado toast which I look forward to trying in the future. They have a full coffee bar with plenty of milk alternatives, as well as a fully stocked bar. Love the large, beautiful outdoor seating area! Highly recommend this spot.

Very interesting place! They have a large outdoor sitting area available, but since the weather was cold everyone was inside. Large variety of people enjoying themselves in many ways. People gathering with friends drinking coffee or having a drink, solo patrons reading a book or studying, people grabbing a bite to eat. Good vibe throughout. The owners really invested in this hundred plus year old church, as it look beautiful. Found the staff to be not very friendly. Stood there for a while waiting for someone to take my order. Prices were average. Definitely would like to return in the warmer months to see what they have going outside.

A historic church turned into a coffee shop/cocktail lounge. Great atmosphere for locals to chill and vibe indoors or outdoors. Kid friendly, with a space for children to play with toys. Love the art in the space, decor, menu options, summer events and farmers market. Like that they feature local djs. Great place to catch up on work, read a book, or to grab a solo cocktail. Solo dating safe atmosphere. The carrot cake was my favorite.

Awesome coffee and amazing food. We went there around noon on a Saturday and it was busy but we still got seats. We ordered toddy, spicy mocha latte, salmon bagel and Brie with bread. The food was amazing! This place used to be a church and the exterior is still intact. The interior has been well-preserved as well and you can still see the organ and the stained glass windows. Overall, an excellent find!

Great coffee shop. Plenty of indoor & outdoor seating. The coffee is delicious & they had good pastries. We had the cheese/ham croissant + raspberry muffin, both were great. Looking forward to going back.

3 of us planed just for a latte, a capuchino, and a chai with one scone shared. End up we brought 2 bags coffee bean. We really enjoy Tuesday morning environments in this cafe! There are more than coffees to offer. 😉

I can’t rate how the coffee tastes but I know that my experience was bitter, sour and disgusting. I came in for a cup of coffee on the recommendation of my work colleagues who had just come in several moments before. Spoiler alert!!! My colleagues are white. We were all in the area for a work event. When I walked in there were ZERO customers and only two men working at the front counter. Spoiler alert #2….they both were white. They were talking to each other behind the counter and did not look up to greet or acknowledge me. I stood facing them at the counter and said good morning to them. They still did not break the conversation to acknowledge my presence. I then proceeded to go use the restroom and wash my hands before ordering. When I returned to the counter from the restroom they were still talking and once again did not acknowledge my presence. I then made a call on my cell just to see how long (and how ridiculous this encounter would be). I stood there in front of them facing them with my phone to my face chatting with my mother and they did not bother to invite me to order or say hello. I recorded the ordeal at about 6 minutes (which does not account for the time I was there waiting then using the restroom before I hopped on a call) At that point I was convinced that I would never taste this coffee. I won’t be back. If my white colleagues can walk in and come out with coffee in seconds and I can’t walk in and even be greeted then this is not the place I want to spend my money and you should think twice about having people like this work at your front counter. I did not wear my invisible work suit that day nor is this the 1950’s where only certain people can be served at counters. Get it together and hire people that reflect the beautiful diversity that Detroit has to offer. Deplorable.

My husband and I had a macchiato and a latte. Both drinks were great. The blueberry crumb cake was so good we bought another piece! The staff was also very friendly and engaging. I’m glad we stumbled across this place while traveling. If we are in the area again we will be back.

This was a very nice experience. The coffee had me going all day long! The chai tea was delicious and my favorite thing. The grapefruit espresso was tart and not tasty to me. But it was different to try. They put a lot of care into crafting each beverage.

Good selection of interesting coffee bean varieties, you can tell they put a lot of time into research. Only 5 seats, but 3 tables for standing around. On the higher end $4.50-6.50 for 10oz. Good location.
