Super friendly and tasty coffee. Pastries were decent (not patisserie amazing or anything but good). Lots of dog owners walking in, great atmosphere. If you’re looking for quality espresso in DC, go here!

I’m Portland local, own my own commercial espresso machine and grinder. Walked by Compass by chance and stopped in. Glad I did.

The person making lattes was on it! She whipped them put so fast. They are very efficient and tastes good. There are no sugar free flavors though if that is something you need.

The knowledge of the barista in charge was quite bad. Fact they do not serve pour-over coffee yet they charge close to 3 bucks for a drip version that is supposed to be lite roast but comes off as a Starbucks blonde roast profile. Add to this the coffee is piping hot. Shouldn’t be for a third wave coffee shop as such. Needless to say, may be good but personally wasn’t a fan.

Very nice coffee shop and the people working here seem nice as well! I had the almond butter latte, which I think is a seasonal flavor and it was pretty good…

Excellent coffee and breakfast bites. Ultra fast service. Good latte art. A generally quite nice place to work between meetings.

I was hoping this would be better, but there was a small bug in the pastry section, and the almond croissant was not flaky like an actual croissant and didn’t taste much like almond. I couldn’t finish my first bite and those familiar with my reviews know that I have quite a sweet tooth. I haven’t tried the coffee, but I don’t think I’ll be back. The place itself is quaint with plenty of seating.

Cute little coffee shop in Blagden Alley. I frequent La Colombe often, this was my first one in DC. Location is GREAT, with the wall art. On a warm summer day, you can take your coffee to go and explore the many arts in the alley. The only complaint I have is that the menu is very limited, and they have only pastries (I attribute this to the fact that there’s 2 other coffee shops in the alley, that’s probably why. But it would be nice to see them add bagels or other small bites to the menu). Something else as well (and mentioned by a few others) is that there’s No WiFi, so if you’re looking to get coffee and catch up on work, this is not the best place. Staff was nice!

Coffee is great and I’m sure the pastries are good. However in this day and age they don’t allow even small dogs or pets of any kind according to the sign. Not sure why, doesn’t make sense since so many people got dogs during the pandemic. I won’t come her nearly as often even though I work nearby, and I definitely won’t be sitting down for more than a coffee since I have to leave my very nice, tiny dog outside. 👎🏼

By far the best coffee in DC! I have tried several coffee places around Washington but I would rate this as the best of them all…staff are very friendly and welcoming. The place is cozy and in a quiet area behind Marriott courtyard..tried the biscotti and cannele from their bakeries and they weren’t as good as expected.. restrooms are clean and tidy.. I would definitely visit again.

Popped in here for a cup and a pastry, and enjoyed both very much. The pastry was a delicious blueberry scone with a vanilla icing drizzle on top. The medium roast drip was excellent. I like its location in the neat little alley, too.

Absolutely THE best mocha I’ve had since leaving San Francisco. Thank you!! Also the avo toast was lovely, I think it was the pickle shallots. Nice touch.

exceptional espresso program. Truly incredibly gifted craftsman. When I visit from NYC I without fail come to visit this cafe and I always get a flat white and enjoy the oudoor seating they have and read my Bible and just unwind. It’s the greatest cafe with a really stunning food selection too! I love their avocado toast, it goes well with their habenero spicy jam!

Such a hipster place for a weekend brunch. Really enjoyed the vibe, service and food. Everyone was so nice and friendly.

Hands down the best hot coffee I’ve ever had, not just in DC either.

I’ve been here a few times and always get the cappuccino. Maybe my expectations are too high from the amazing cap, but I would not recommend the nitro iced coffee – it was watery & lacked depth of flavor that the cappuccino boasts.

We usually just get coffee here, but the salmon toast was 8/10. No cutlery made it a mess to share, but still a great way to start the day. They’ve got some areas to improve on, but I recommend this spot to everyone I know.

really delicious coffee and food – I ordered the avocado toast and a latte and was NOT disappointed! the spot was a bit crowded to dine in on a Sunday mid-morning (surprise surprise!) but there are a lot of tables in a small space and a nice outdoor area if the weather is good. would definitely go back!

    Great café!

The coffee was so yummy. I ordered the flat white. ☕️

I loved the atmosphere and music. The place has big windows all around, sitting in the sunlight during lunchtime is amazing.

They require your vaccine card if you are dining in.

My brother first introduced me to Bluestone Lane in NYC many years ago so I was thrilled to see that they had locations in DC!

First of all, their cold brew is incredible. I loved it so much that I wished I could get a gallon to take home with me (I live half way across the country where there are no locations).

As I was savoring my cold brew, I ordered the Breakfast Bowl. Everything about it was perfect.

To top it off, the people working there were so nice! The atmosphere is great too— inside and out. They have a lovely patio but it was too hot the day when I was there so I dined inside, which was also lovely.

We stopped at around 3 pm so the cafe was pretty empty. We only wanted coffee and I didn’t realize it was all sit down type of restaurant. It turned out to be very nice. Lattes were delicious and served in cute blue mugs. Service was great. The only problem is since it was near closing, they were cleaning the place and it smelled like strong chemical.

I had a nice lunch and latte here. The lunch was the warm chicken and ancient grain bowl that was very good. It came with lentils, onion, Brussel sprouts, spinach, tomatoes, feta cheese, spicy chicken and a poached egg. Mixed together it was very flavorful. The latte was a simple latte with oat milk. If you like flavored latte the only flavor they have is vanilla. It’s a very modern, industrial setting. Good find.

Very delicious place to eat, work, and study!

The environment is very well design. The decor is amazing. The food, phenomenal.

The food tasted so well I can’t describe it. Everything was full of flavor. I’ve never tasted a banana bread like this. It literally melted my face!

The chicken wrap tasted very good. The kale was crunchy, and the yogurt gave it a unique taste that made it more enjoyable.

To wash it all down, an iced shake. Talk about a great way to end it all. I would go back just for this on a hot day.

The words aren’t enough to express, but I highly recommend coming to this place. I know I will definitely be back!

The coffee was pretty decent, but the service and friendliness of the staff was stellar. I got a London fog and it was delicious, but in the future I would probably ask for a shot of espresso since the flavor was really light. I will say that a lot of reviews here mentioning wifi aren’t accurate anymore- it seems that they aren’t offering wifi anymore due to COVID. Which I respect but wish I knew prior to stopping by.

Cute space with a great dirty dirty chai and coffee selection with assorted local baked goods. There’s some great in and outdoor seating to stay a while.

The coffee was okay and the place is very cute!! The staff was very cliquish, which was kind of uncomfortable. There are also signs everywhere with stern, specific instructions on which way to walk, which doors to use, how to behave, etc. It’s kinda bizarre.

Here is a unique spot in DC. A spot where the owner is there with her full energy to greet you! The team who works there is incredible as well. You can tell from their smiles that this place IS the place to be! Great coffee, amazing ambiance and, not to be forgotten, great pastries. Love the patio area as well as indoor spot. Very nice place to meet up with people or just hang! The neighborhood is my favorite in town…Don’t miss out on this unique Logan Circle experience…

Love this little gem of a cafe. Only downside is they don’t offer Wi-Fi… which is kinda strange. They still deserve 5 stars though.
