When I first visited Intelligentsia about 6 years ago while traveling, I was blown away. When I came back to visit, another stop was high on my list of things to do. As a coffee lover, I enjoy checking out Intelligentsia, key representation of third wave coffee in the US. This location was particularly low key, a great place to get some work done and get a break from the cold. I loved trying their unique seasonal drink and I’m so glad I checked out this essential staple in the Second city a second time.

I love Intelligentsia, all the workers are so helpful and kind and they always make me feel welcome. Enjoy a tasty latte at this cozy spot while getting some work done. It’s always a pleasure to go in and see Matt, who greets us with a friendly attitude every time! Best coffee shop in town!!

Dope spot, love the revolving door. Really quick if you’re trying to get a great cup of coffee and get out! Also perfect if you’re wanting to chill for a bit to relax or do some work! Prices are decent.

A Nice place with good coffee. Not my favorite one for sure and I wasn’t a big fan of the “mechanical” pour over. However, I would go back if I need.
They could for sure organizing better the line and the pick-up.

Yes, all the words. If you’re in Millennium Park and looking for *top shelf* single origin coffee this is where you stop. This baristas treat the coffee with respect. Set up with your laptop and listen to the happy whistle of the espresso machine pull legit shots all afternoon.

Absolutely phenomenal! I first had the pleasure of witnessing this awesome creation at a J&L Liquor Lab cold brew coffee tasting kit. Wow, this cold brew is hands down the most awesome coffee I ever had, period.
I tried both the Dark Matter Blanco Jaguar and the Dark Matter Vanilla Suburbs, both had well bodied South American knockout flavors and aromas with a perfect bold and strong bittersweet punch to the tastebuds.
I love the quirky and out the box ethics and vibe from this company which sets it light-years ahead of the market and a pioneer at coffee innovation, the custom and south american inspired can designs are dope I dig!! I would 100% recommend without hesitation and can confirm their products are fantastic and addictive!

    Extra points for sustainable practices

Interestingly decorated coffeeshop with friendly baristas.
That’s really great of guys to be able to pour drinks in to-go mugs. But the smallest size they serve is 16 oz, so if your cup is less than that, you will be charged for 16 oz nonetheless (like in our case, we’ve had two 12 oz cups).
Unfortunately, to my great dismay, I didn’t like the coffee. It was too acidic for my taste, and my husband found it quite strong. But it’s definitely not a reason to give fewer stars as everyone’s taste buds are different, and the service was impeccable.

I made the trip to this coffee shop last time and did not disappoint.
The staff was really helpful. I even got a bag of coffee beans which smells amazing, I cannot wait to taste it.

If you haven’t tried Dark Matter coffee, you haven’t lived. Best coffee in Chicago. The lattes are worth the wait, and the eagerness I experience each time is never disappointed when my lips meet the first sip. I always manage to buy some type of pastry or breakfast bite and they’re always great too.

The espresso was great. It was smooth and sweet and decently priced ($3.50). They had plenty to offer like mugs, coffee beans, and clothing just to name a few of the many things offered. Would love to make a trip back here and try their other offerings!

Lot’s of light and beautiful cups

I wanted to visit this coffee shop a couple of weeks ago, but they were closed for dine-in. I was much luckier this time.
First of all, employees are friendly, helpful, and quick. My coffee was ready as soon as I’ve placed the order. It also had a pretty feather art.
Pain au chocolat was very buttery and not extremely sweet and paired well with the tiniest bit bitter cappuccino.
The cafe has a lot of open space. It is to accommodate the people who are waiting in line. The line is moving quickly but doesn’t end.
The cups deserve a separate mention. They are not of some fine china, but with their pretty floral design, they make the experience better. I, for one, like these cups way more than plain white.

Cat was super helpful and friendly. I have never really had very fancy coffee drinks before as I generally don’t like the very bitter taste. She convinced me to try one of their iced lattes with oat milk, and it tasted almost like a super dark chocolate drink. It’s a great recommendation for people who don’t like regular coffee, and it’s very impressive how passionate the staff are about the products. I highly recommend this location for people who are seeking high quality beverages!

Overall experience was good. Staff is really friendly and quick. Espresso was smooth and the cookie is sweet. Pricing is reasonable as I spent just over $6 altogether. Liked the little shot glass the espresso came in. A cool vibe of a coffee shop.

This place rules! My go to coffee shop when I worked in the area. Heidi is the best!!! The rest of the staff is wonderful too, of course. The kind of place where you just want to be friends with everyone who works there.

I visited my friend in Chicago and she took me to this place to grab a quick coffee. Was very satisfied with the coffee itself and the service. We ordered Macchiato with milk and received two shots at first. Didn’t remember why the order was wrong. It could be because we didn’t communicated it clearly or something else. Regardless, they immediately made another two cups of regular coffee for us.

Phenomenal coffee and ambience. Everyone has told me to visit this coffee shop and it did not disappoint. The iced coffee they have on tap is delicious and the specialty barrel aged mocha latte hit the spot. Will be returning soon!

love this coffee shop! staff was super helpful and the decor was really cool. i drank the one with ginger and it had a taste i never had before, and not in a bad way! it was more bitter but also smooth with a hint of sweet

This place is incredible! I had the agave latte and veggie/egg breakfast taco and both were incredible. The agave latte had the perfect amount of sweetness. The taco was huge and kept me full all day. The ambiance inside the place is super cool — art on the walls, light up signage, and canned cold brew for sale just to name a few things. Will definitely be back next time I’m in Chicago.

Great place. It gets busy fast. After I got in, like 20 people showed up. It looks like they rotate through their flavors, so read the menu. It’s really cool looking on the inside and they have a patio out back. All of their coffee looks delicious so I definitively need to come back again.

What a lovely and kind hearted staff ❤ of people who work here! This particular Dollop location is a favorite of mine with its beautiful layout, ample seating and positive vibes.

I come here after doing light errands here in Streeterville and am never disappointed with the quality of service and peacefulness.

Great place to sit down and do some work on your laptop 💻 while having a latte or hot chocolate 🍫

Very nice first visit. Helpful staff and tasty coffee. We had a decaf mocha and a 3-shot salted caramel latte. Plenty of seating and free wifi (password posted at the counter). Some power strips for charging, though didn’t see any direct USB ports. Cold drinks, build-a-bagel and specialty pour-over also available.

I’ve been meaning to try them out and just dropped in today. One of the employees tempted me with a vegan donut and I could not resist. I had the glazed and it was so good! I ordered the Nutella mocha and it was very nice. I will definitely be returning to this coffee shop next time I am in town.

Excellent craft coffee and bakery stop in streeterville. I am a Chicago tourist and I had seen this shop multiple times but had not made time to stop in. Had a really pleasant experience – great place to work on a laptop or sit and sip while having a conversation. My pourover was excellent- I would say it rivals the quality of Intelligencia’s cafes. I had no idea this was a chain until I was looking it up to write a review – it has a local wholesome feel.
