Arguably one of the most popular coffee shops in Kansas City is the Messenger located in the Crossroads District. The Messenger is very clean and sparkly! The pastries are baked right in front of you which leaves your mouth watering to try just about everything.

The menu goes past just your typical breakfast items. You can even get salads or a sandwich if you stay working remote at the Messenger past the typical morning/breakfast hours.
There are a few different spots you can choose to work from within the Messenger. The bottom floor is a great spot to work, but if you have calls to take, the first floor might be a little too loud. You can go upstairs to work with a little bit more peace OR you can sit outside on the rooftop patio to drink your coffee with a view. I love working outside on their rooftop patio because of the beautiful KC views.

What to Order: I order the Ham & Cheese Croissant and a Mocha Latte

Cute coffee shop with long wait lines. I’ve passed by this place two times and passed due to long lines that wrapped around the counter, but decided to stick it out for a drink. I ordered a seasonal drink with strong orange flavorings that made it too acidic for my liking. However, the service was wonderful by a staff that is being worked and the shop is cute with three floors and a rooftop. It is a great place to order a drink with friends or study before class.

I was visiting Kansas City these weekend and this was our afternoon coffee stop. I was very impressed as soon as I walked in, as it is an open space with three different floor. The coffee was very good, and they had a variety of different drinks and treats available. We were a little bummed that they were out of cinnamon rolls, but that just goes to show how high in demand they are! This is a must-visit place if you’re in the area.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting a cafe called “Messenger Coffee.” From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm and welcoming smiles from the staff. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with plenty of natural light streaming in through the large windows.

I was impressed by the extensive menu of specialty coffees and teas, as well as the delicious-looking pastries and sandwiches on display. I ended up ordering a mocha and a gluten free pastry, and I have to say, both were absolutely divine. The mocha was made with expert precision and had the perfect balance of espresso and steamed oat milk. The gluten free pastry was very good and not overly sweet.

What really made the experience stand out, however, was the attentive and friendly service from the staff. They made sure to check in on me regularly to see if I needed anything, and they even offered suggestions on other menu items I might enjoy. They were very friendly and made me feel at home.
Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Messenger Coffee. The food and drinks were top-notch, and the service was unparalleled. I would highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking for a cozy and inviting spot to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee or tea. I definitely recommend eating out on the patio, on the third floor if the weather is nice.

It’s a great spot to have a meeting, spend time with friends and family, or even to just sit and read a book by yourself. They have a comfortable seating area and perfect lighting to accommodate the need. It’s a cafe that would never disappoint and I’ll be back soon.

Great coffee shop with a cool ambiance. They roast their own beans on site and have a bakery on site for their pastries and breads. The first floor has a nice area to watch the bakery. The second floor has their roaster and places to sit and work or eat. The third floor has more work area and an outside rooftop patio with nice views.

Cute coffee cafe and factory! The cafe is spacious and the staff is friendly! We had ordered a couple coffees and must’ve misheard us when we recieved the wrong one, offered to make us a new one right away! The exterior draws your attention with the airplane on the roof! It’s a one of a kind place
I will say I think there were some stuff at the bottom of my cup I ended up drinking, but overall the drink was great.

Unique cafe with great, helpful staff. HIGHLY recommend the honeycomb latte. The design is spacious, I had an excellent time exploring and watching coffee being made in the back. You have choices of couches, long tables and you can even take a tour of the facility. Not to mention that there’s a huge airplane on top of the cafe. This cafe is truly one of a kind.

Best spot in Kansas City for coffee. I got the iced horchata latte, the only thing I regret is not getting a larger size. They variety they have is incredible. I will return to do a tour( which is only $5) and try out more other drinks!

After seeing the plane a million times from the highway over the years, I’m glad I finally visited. It’s nice that they have plenty of free parking in a lot across the street.

Had an excellent key lime cold brew coffee here! The staff was very friendly. It’s a neat place as you can see into the coffee factory, cupping room, and canning area. They offer tours as well through the factory.

We ordered food for pickup. It was really good. We had the egg and cheese and the breakfast sandwich on a bagel with turkey. Both were good. Coffee was good. Decor nice. It is in a great area. Pickup staff not super friendly but they were very busy though. I would definitely recommend this place.

I love City Market Coffee – it’s located in the bustling KC River Market – especially busy on Saturdays in good weather – and the moment you near the entrance, you are flooded with a deep whiff of the richest smelling beans around….the baristas here created a great iced Americana with hazelnut for me and a Very Berry smoothie for my niece today. There is usually a line, but these folks are friendly and efficient, so it moves quickly. I did notice today that it was just a bit messier than I have seen it in the past… the creams/utensils/napkins counter needed bussing and wiped. We were there after the lunch rush so they must not have had time to clean it yet, hence, still 5 stars for coffee quality but 4 stars for overall cleanliness.

If you have not been here, it really is a must. Order your coffee, then head up the spiral staircase to a cozy seating area from which you can watch the steady movement of happy customers…

Oh, and when you’re finished, don’t just leave…there is a plethora of sights, sounds, aromas and activities beckoning you within just a few steps. Spend the day at the Market!

This place has a solid drink menu with all the goods. I had a pretty decent cappuccino. What I’d come back for are those pop tarts. They had four or so flavors; I went with pumpkin (warmed up) and it was freaking amazing! Defintely stop and get one (or 10) if you’re strolling around City Market.

terrible customer service. We ordered two bagel sandwiches. One didn’t have any cream cheese, or tomato. We never said we didn’t want the extras. As soon as we walked in one of the employees had a terrible attitude and her willingness to assist wasn’t there. Tattoos, curly hair and very sweaty. We called back for a refund and we could hear her in the background asking about the order. One of the bagels also had a hair inside, which we didn’t discover until we got home. In the background we heard “why did she take it then” she should not be looking to blame us when she should be wearing a hair net. She was very rude and inattentive. Bad look for our first visit. Won’t be back. The woman said she would send our refund and seconds later they hung up in our face. Better employees needed immediately. She should not be working customer service with that poor attitude.

I went there on a Saturday morning and it was very crowded but about what I expected. I ordered the 8 oz americano and it was pretty good. Above average! In addition to inside seating you can go out behind the shop and there is a little park area with a lot of benches.

I love how environmentally conscious they are! I received a take-home glass jar with a koozie ($1 extra on top of the order), but if you bring it back you pretty much get the the dollar back. I ordered the Dark Choco Mocha and loved it! Bittersweet chocolate that meddled nicely with the whole milk and had an overlapping coffee aroma. I loved the girl who took my order! So personable and sweet! Her outfit was FIRE. I’m definitely making this my study place when I have the chance to come back.

This place is nice and worth the visit. The coffee is good and the crew working there is very nice. Although the biscuits are pretty good, it is the only salted option in their menu for breakfast and that is the only reason I give them 4 stars instead of 5, but other than that, this is and ideal place for a relaxed moment with a nice cup of coffee.

Bourbon vanilla latte is great, we stayed in the neighborhood for work and stopped by here daily for coffee and biscuit sandwiches. If you like iced coffee you can’t go wrong with the bourbon vanilla latte. Very chill place and seating out front to enjoy your latte and breakfast. The jar is a nice little touch and you can trade in your jar to refill instead of wasteful paper cups.

This is a pretty lovable place. They were very popular when I popped in on a Sunday morning. It’s pretty spacious indoor and outdoor, and an attractive, cozy atmosphere. WiFi is good, so you can definitely come and work. I’ve had a latte (with oat milk) and dark chocolate mocha (with macadamia milk) and both were excellent. You can tell they have skillful batistas that take their time, and the staff all-around seems cool. They also serve biscuit sandwiches and vegan pastries. You get a cool koozie and glass jar if you order to-go, and they’re reusable if you come back. Nothing but good things to say about Oddly Correct!

The best pour over in Kansas City. It’s worth the drive from anywhere in the metro area. You can also order their beans online freshly roasted and pickup on Fridays or have shipped to your home. Always a friendly staff.

Blip is a fun downtown coffee shop nestled in the industrial area on the Missouri river. The people here care about good quality coffee, all of their coffee is roasted in house. They have a relatively large sitting space that accommodates a little under 50 seats (couch, bar, table, lounge chairs). The vibe is industrial motorcycle shop (no parts, just merch). Prices a very fair, and everything is very clean. If you aren’t able to make it in to the shop check out their website! We will be back!

Blip is one of Kansas City’s top coffee shops! It’s a must stop! It’s a huge space! Great place to bring a group of friends for coffee! Tons of cool fun events! We love Blip! Great coffee! Amazing staff! The clothes are cool and you’ll definitely want to shop there! There is a ton of seating inside and out! Plenty of parking!

This is such a cool coffee shop! It’s super unique. I never would have known about it had it not been for a friend who invited me there. I loved the environment and layout of the place. The chai latte I had was great. I really appreciated that they didn’t charge extra for non- dairy alternatives.

I’ll definitely be going there again!

Incredible coffee, and coffee shop experience in kcmo ☕
Such a cozy environment, great spot to study, and to come hang out with friends/family. Vegan/gluten free options as well, and no extra charge on dairy free milks, which is such a + for me 😄 Definitely a cool little niche spot in the west bottoms.

Blip is great! Sorry it’s taken me so long to check it out. My sister and I had the draft latte of the day and both loved it, as did my niece who got an iced chai. They have alternative milks available. I noted some baked goods but didn’t inquire to find if they bake them in house or not. Great service. Cool vibe. They also use their space for special events. Restrooms are gender neutral I did not notice if there’s an accessible entrance, I used stairs to enter. There’s outdoor seating. Parking is street parking.
