Friendly staff, lots to look at, plenty of seating, phenomenal food and so many options for flavors. Offers local bakery treats. The barista and I had a conversation about how I have anxiety trying new things (flavors) so she brought me a sample of the Lavender Mocha, I love this place and will come back!

Really nice, antique looking cafe! Conveniently located with parking in the back. They sell hand sketched cards! Wall to wall art displays, a small stage with a piano…and yes, good coffee. A very quiet and peaceful place ❤

Awesome coffee and fun atmosphere. In the world of coffee shops, they’re all starting to look and feel the same sadly. This place has a great combo of excellent roasts and great vibes.

Cool weekend spot with a liquor license that can throw something extra in your java if you want. Food has been good but the coffee and the staff is always excellent.

Good food and great service! Super cute outdoor patio, would definitely recommend for a date night 🥰

One of my worst Cafe experiences in Rochester.
I ordered a Tofu Scramble and it was bitter with uncooked Turmeric with no seasoning at all. I returned it as it was inedible and the server said that they get it pre-cooked.

Atmosphere is good, but in my opinion the place is overrated.

I remember this place from my youth. It’s changed a bit since then – less beatnik and more metro. Still has great ambiance and a plethora of tasty drinks. I only wish the cappuccinos were much larger!

Great vibes here and definitely a very unique place for a good coffee. I can recommend the Flat White with Oatmilk.

Probably my favorite coffee shop in Rochester. Recommend their Aztec mocha and hot chocolate. The snacks are great, too. Great vibe and atmosphere. Great neighborhood.

Love this coffee spot! They roast their beans. Coffee is good. Cool hangout spot right by the Eastman School of Music. And the hours – 7am – 12am everyday! – are amazing for night owl coffee drinkers like me.

Not sure if they have a skim or low fat milk option but if not that would be helpful.

Add a star if you dress goth.

The coffee was very delicious, but pastries were not fresh. Staff was very friendly and professional. Atmosphere is good as well.

This is a huge big space for everything cool about coffee shops and the stuff that goes with it: beans, treats, cakes, and plenty of room to sip, talk, and work. The actual space is a former Chevy dealership with a balcony and different kinds of relaxation nooks. The staff are friendly and it seems peopled with diverse locals. The iced coffee did the job, the kid had a big apple juice, and we split a rice-crispy bar. Be sure to stop by and chill when you’re in the neighborhood.

Spot coffee used to be awesome about 10 years ago… sadly this cafe has changed. Coffee is still good but they def have a limited choice of cakes and sweets. They used to have many choices available but now just a few remain. Staff working the counter used to be fun and friendly but not so much any more. Tables are not clean because they seem to have limited staff and bathroom were gross with over flowing garbage and urine on the floor. Also found out they no longer have live music 🙁 what a shame! Disappointed with my experience!

I used to enjoy spot coffee, but my recent experience was a disaster. The place is INFESTED with mice. At first I shrugged off a small mouse I thought I saw at the corner of my eye, but there were at least 10! Freely roaming around. So I can only imagine they must be going to the kitchen after closing. Hopefully they fix this because this is a severe health hazard. I never really want to unnecessarily tarnish the reputation of a business that’s generally not bad. But this was a little insane and jarring!

Normally I don’t complain but I go in around 6 pm on my lunch from work and order a bagle toasted with cream cheese and butter, rice crispy treat and an iced Carmel macciato . Order is 15 dollars. I get my order an leave. On way back to work I notice my drink is nothing but ice…. I go to take a bite of my bagle and it’s dry, the butter and cream cheese are in the bottom of the bag. So by time I get to work its cold and no way to put on in a friendly matter. They used to prep the bagel for you. Hence why it’s to go. I’m not sure what is going on there but used to come in every day and never had any issues.

The space was so big and nice. The staff who served us was really nice. We got a nice treat. They have too many choices for the latte flavours!
The place was recommended to us by someone. I will definitely come again and try other stuff.

Met a colleague there for a quick meeting. Lots of outdoor seating, inside is airy, and moderate seating. Pretty large menu and drinks, plenty of staff, parking could be an issue. Must be a good place as law enforcement was continually coming and going and a fire truck stopped by for coffee too.

Stopped by Cafe Sasso to get a late breakfast. The coffee was delicious, but not anything outstanding. The service was fantastic and quick, and there chocolate hazelnut croissant was delicious! It has a very quirky and cozy atmosphere. Would stop by if you’re in Rochester!

    A wonderful place

    Really positive vibes

    Place, extraordinary atmosphere.

    Arts everywhere. Beautiful.

    You will love him.

    Perfect for a date.

Despite being pretty continuously busy, especially during peak hours, their turn around time (on both drinks and food) has been fast in my experience. It’s honestly impressive. And there’s not a lack of quality for it either. The space is nice, and there’s a decent amount of seating, though things are a bit snug, but it lends to a coziness. There’s a decent selection of breakfast and lunch sandwiches as well as bakery items, and of course a full drink menu that even includes cocktails. It’s becoming my new favorite spot 😊

The staff was very friendly and the drinks were delicious. The Decor was homey, but it definitely needs some minor improvements such as fresh stain on the floor. Looks a bit shabby. Especially since the walls look recently painted. That aside, I love the subtle touches like the cute changing password for the WiFi and the tip suggestions. I think they should go all out with humour. Definitely a great safe haven for the lgbtq+ community. Must check it out if you’re visiting the area.

Had amazing iced latte (perfect amount of coffee for me) and heated danish. Was a perfect evening!

I generally rate coffee shops based on how good my pee smells after having the drink. The 5 stars for that smell. 😂 (Don’t judge me :p)

The art of the good breakfast sandwich LIVES here. Simple, under $5, just the right amount of choice for cheese options. Fluffy egg, perfect everything. Come for the brekky sammies, stay for the love, community, and belonging

EG is an important part of both the South Wedge neighborhood and the Rochester LGBTQ+ community serving as a safe space, and welcoming all. Plus their drinks and food are outstanding and very reasonably priced.
