    The world’s largest chocolate shop

This is definitely a large chocolate shop, it kept going and going. You can find a gift for any sweet tooth here. I was very impressed with how much this has to offer, it is more than just a chocolate shop. They have packaged gifts, ice cream, toys, food and a vintage wall of soda pop.
I enjoyed listening to live music of Sand Bunny’s. There are comfortable spots to sit, and on a cold night get some hot chocolate and sit by one of the fire places. The chocolate is really great. I enjoyed the chocolate mint.
With this shop being so large, there are several employees to help run it, and not a single one greeted me or asked if I needed help.

Excellent customer service experience. I grabbed pictures of the assortment of chocolates I picked up. It seems like they have designed them all to have some type of feature or shape that helpes you tell them each apart from each other. When I asked about a breakfast spot for the next day, one of the closing associates encouraged me to come back in the morning. Well, their recommendation was perfect. I had the softest bagel breakfast sandwich the next day, and was able to sit outdoors, which I appreciated. In addition to cafe seating, they have an inviting lounge area inside.

South Bend Chocolate Cafe is very nice! We enjoyed our experience, and the staff were very friendly. Their prices are admittedly a bit higher than one would expect (we dropped $15 on a bag of their specialty popcorn), but I can certainly view it as a nice place to reconnect with someone or for a special occasion.

I usually enjoy stopping by the Downtown Cafe however this morning service was subpar and my food was clearly past its shelf life. I’m still in disbelief.

I have visited this place since I was a kid in 99. I’ve enjoyed every section of this establishment throughout the years. My children grew up sliding down the play area and I’ve personally used this location for meetings. Is was not until recently that I experienced what some might refer to as a verbal onslaught. One employee does not represent the establishment nor will I refrain from walking in there if in the vicinity but I just feel that they have an issue there that they need to attend to

When I walked in I wasn’t greeted just stared at, so I spoke and smiled told Maddy ( I asked her name) it was my first time here. The singer was the only positive thing about the place it’s sad in 2022 people are still judging. I heard great things but it was not a good experience. They do serve alcohol but my drink had none in it.

The restrooms are nasty & it’s difficult to wash your hands because of the small amount of water that comes out.

I got the Mole’ Pulled Pork with Sour Cream & Cilantro. I got incredibly dry pulled pork with cilantro.

When I asked about my sour cream, they said they didn’t have any or couldn’t find it. It’s a new item, so they just didn’t know. Just thought they’d serve it without.

They offered me ranch & that made it edible. But I’ll be sticking with the Mishawaka location

Food was pretty good quality and taste wise. Jambalaya had nice flavors and a little bit of spice to it. Staff was friendly and courteous. Beignets were very good, nice and light.

Awesome little breakfast spot – great menu. I love that you can add on one pancake or one piece of French toast!

We had the special that was eggs with sausage, onion, and cheese with hashbrowns and toast.

Service was excellent, coffee was good, and food was delicious and a great portion

My first time here. My wife and daughter ate lunch here previously and suggested I give them a try.

I usually have a heavy breakfast so I decided that we go in the morning. (You will want to get here early for seating as there was a long line waiting as we left around 9:30.)

My normal go-to breakfast place is The Original Pancake House on Ironwood and the menus are fairly similar so I was able to order what I would normally order (which is nice).

The prices were also reasonable and about the same as TOPH. The portions here seem to be a little bit more generous (I couldn’t finish).

Staff is friendly and our server was constantly topping off our coffee.

Our bill came to $28 and change which isn’t bad for feeding three people.

My only complaint was watching water drip from the ceiling vents and tiles. There is an area of ceiling tiles that are warped and showing signs of water damage which indicate this has been an issue for awhile but hasn’t been fixed. Restaurants should be on top of issues like this because leaking water pipes, leaky roofs, etc. equate to potential mold that could lead to health problems for its staff and customers. This is the reason why I gave them 4/5 stars. If I go back and see the problem is resolved, I may change my rating to a 5.

Overall, it was a nice dining experience. The food was delicious and the decor was whimsical.

    A must try.

We stayed in downtown South Bend for a wedding, the next day we were looking for a brunch spot. All of the downtown places had a wait of 2 hours for a table of 2. We chatted with the manager of our hotel and he mentioned this little hidden gem. We were seated quickly and greeted with smiles and coffee. Service was excellent and so was the food! Highly recommend this cute little diner.

This little spot located downtown has a delightful atmosphere and cozy sitting spaces.

I personally am not a great judge of coffee but the Dirty Chai Latte I got was absolutely delicious. Everything is reasonably priced and the staff is very attentive and polite.

To top it all off there is an awesome mural on the outside of the building. I will definitely be coming back.

Shares the joint title of being the best coffee shop in South Bend (with Sway Coffee which is two mins down the street)!

It makes you feel like you are in a 1970s aristocrat’s living room, or your own home. There are artifacts and art pieces for sale throughout the shop as well, which makes it feel like my grandparents’ house of which i have really fond memories… The people who work there are really friendly, especially he interior designer and Sarah!

Best coffee in South Bend! I’ve had their ice vanilla latte and their cappuccino and both were wonderful. The inside is a nice place to hang out or focus on work. Also, they have a cool mural outside!

    Unclean 70’s atmosphere

Walking in takes you back in time, to also a place that definitely needs to feel more clean. I saw a dead cocroch by the window. The velvet furniture and classic arcade games will make you re-think what year it is. The drinks are ok, I ordered a chai tea latte, but it didn’t have much flavor. Not a large selection of drinks and nothing original. There is a dirt lot for parking in the back.

    Third visit:

Wow. I’m impressed how this place has changed. They have plants, vases, and other things to sell. It’s so cozy now. Omg. I love this place!!! And their furniture is pretty. So happy you to see these changes.

Please add more snacks to your menu as well!

    Second and first visits:

Probably the only coffee place I will want to visit in South Bend. The cafe has a really cute and unique atmosphere and decorations.

I felt really good there and wish I have brought my laptop to study there and drink coffee.

But please take care of your plants. The thriving ones could really add a lot to the atmosphere of the place.
