My companion and I stopped in for lunch and coffee on a rainy Sunday afternoon. The line was long but moving steadily. Once we ordered, we were given a sign and were off to find a place to sit… which was no easy task!! This place is very popular, which I love to see. There were a lot of places to sit, but we had to look around before we found a place, it was definitely crowded. We were served the coffee first, I got a hot latte with my choice of rosemary syrup added, and my companion got an iced dirty chai latte. They were both good, but nothing to knock our socks off. When the food came, it was the exact same thing. It was good, but nothing I think either of us would travel across town for.
Still, the popularity of this restaurant is impressive, it looks like they are doing well, and good for them. Definitely a cool place to hang out with friends and eat decently good food with coffee on the side, in a neat part of the outskirts of the city with cool houses in the area.
Last note is that amazing bathroom… One of the neatest wallpapered bathrooms I’ve ever seen !

Great cafe in a quiet neighborhood. Coffee is top notch and plenty of food items to choose from. They also have a great baked good section. Another plus is that they have plant based alternative for drinks and gluten free options for food. Great atmosphere as well. Recommend given this place a try!

Cool and cozy coffee shop on Cherokee Street. The coffee is top notch with plenty of house specials to strike your fancy. They have a great menu of hot foods and desserts. This is a great place to chill out and talk or get some work done.

My boyfriend and I stopped in St. Louis, on our road trip from Texas to Wisconsin, this morning to have some breakfast and we were so impressed! We sat outside on the patio to enjoy the nice weather; it was perfect! We ordered the half order of French toast with strawberries and the avocado toast with an horchata oat milk latte and everything tasted amazing!

The atmosphere perfectly complements the coffee and food at Mud House. If you are looking for a nice cozy place for breakfast on a Saturday or Sunday, this place is provides an excellent vibe. The coffee and breakfast menu are pretty standard and meets the bar. Coffee was better than the breakfast. Seriously good cup.

Really enjoyed the coffee there! The inside is very cool, definitely a hipster vibe with a bunch of cool stickers behind the counter (some of them are kind of edgy so beware, a few of them did make me uncomfortable). I liked how the coffee making station looks. Service was very speedy and the staff is so nice. My friend and I just got coffee, but the food looks spectacular.

An amazing Sunday morning brunch. I got the vegan breakfast burrito. One of the absolute best vegan breakfasts I’ve ever had!
My boyfriend got the vegan French toast and said it was some of the best French toast (vegan or not!) that he’s had.
We also got the dirty chai lattes with oat milk. The blend of spices used are unique and extraordinary.

I like this spot. It tends to be an LGBT hangout spot. This Sapphic very much appreciates the accepting environment. I love Mockabe’s for how vegan friendly they are. Not only with their drinks but with their food too. They have a variety of non dairy milks to choose from when ordering a latte or chai. They have a nice selection of vegan friendly food too. I like to alternate between their options. Their staff is always friendly and helpful too. ❤️

Great lattes at a very reasonable price. Staff is friendly and kind.

Their black iced tea is also delicious.

Good coffee (expensive but tasty) but I wouldn’t recommend the shop. Didn’t feel welcoming as a student using it as a place to study. Requested we leave after 45 minutes so they could give the table to someone else when other customers had been studying since before we arrived. May be good for brunch or to grab a coffee and chat with a friend but not a spot for students. Won’t be returning.

Excellent experience! Breakfast sandwiches were fresh and VERY tasty. Coffee was great. Loved the atmosphere and music they played, plus a wonderful view of the campus. You can tell they love what they do here, it shows.

Verdict – would go back & recommend to friends.

    Great breakfast!
Had the breakfast bagel with sausage and it was delicious. Americano was good, and the Nitro Cold brew was a great start to the summer day. The staff here are friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming and open.

Great place to work on early weekend mornings! There’s so much seating, and the vibe is so cozy. I also love the location facing a picturesque view of WashU. I tried the rosemary brown sugar seasonal latte, which was yummy!

Had some free time and decided to come here with a friend. I always tend to get the nitro cold brew whenever I go to coffee shops and this visit was no exception. I thought the size of it was pretty small. I also got the breakfast bowl. I had bacon, guacamole, quinoa and it was really good mixed together. The staff there were very helpful and polite and I enjoyed both my visit and the food. If you sit by the window you actually get a pretty good view of the park across the street. Wish this place stayed open later, I would have definitely come here to get some work done.

Excellent!! Very few places make a good Americano. Kaldi’s did it right! The location is great. Easy parking. Interior decor is beautiful. I must return.

Quiet but lively. Interesting place to purchase coffee. Honestly, I love this neighborhood and the old houses around add the experience of this area/place. I was first in line when they opened and suddenly there were 10 ppl that came out of nowhere. It’s truly a favorite among the locals and you can tell. Plan on trying this place again. I got an Ethiopian pour over, that was pretty good. Staff was helpful and friendly. Old building, really cool inside. All around eclectic. Jack goes here at times or he used too. Love the name can’t wait to go back and buy more coffee. Menu is small but awesome.

Interesting and impressive decor using wood. The service was excellent. 2 rooms, the main area, and a smaller undecorated room in the back. Small patio in front. Coffee tasted great! Be aware that the coffee sizes are a little smaller than you might expect. My latte was about 8-10 oz. Surrounding neighborhood is not the safest, but then again, it’s St Louis city, so be aware.

A new favorite! Can’t believe I haven’t tried this coffee shop before.

I got the chocolate lavender coffee, which was delicious. I also got some tasty banana chocolate cookies, which come in a 4-pack.

Love the vibe inside, and there’s plenty of seating outside at tables. Will definitely be back!

High quality coffee drinks, staff, and location. Really cool stop and worth a special trip, or if you’re just passing by! Would definitely visit again. My companion and I loved the Caramel Bourbon Latte and the Dirty Chai as well. The one thing I would question is that I’m pretty sure they said they use only light and medium roasts. Why not the superior dark? You couldn’t tell most of the drinks but we definitely noticed the difference with the cold brew we took to go. In any case, they have a really cool aesthetic going on in there as well, definitely one of the better coffee shops in Saint Louis.

This is not your average coffee shop! If you are a coffee guru, you will love this place. Plan to come, sit, relax, and enjoy an amazing cup of coffee. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and make your experience stand out. I’d say this is the best coffee shop I’ve ever been to.

Casual coffee shop with a variety of food to choose from the food menu. I had the salmon bagel with a side of tomato soup. My friends got the Hartford Gyro and Biscuits and Gravy and both loved their food too. The portion is large enough and it’s well priced. The coffee shop is located south of the Tower Grove Park so you could visit it while visiting the park.

Great little neighborhood coffee shop. My problem was trying to decide what to eat. Friendly and helpful staff. I like their outdoor dining option. Masks are required when not at your table inside. They have a brisk clientele even on a Sunday morning at 7:30. There is 15 minute parking available for those who wish to do takeout.

Nice neighborhood coffee shop where the coffee was OK, but was really enticed by the food. Will definitely return and try their Ruben

Definitely check the Gooey Butter Cake and get your an Iced Matcha Latte and then you’re happy.

This is my second bad experience with Hartford coffee. I ordered a breakfast bowl and no potatoes were in it (as described on the menu). The portion was also about a 1/3 of the size it normally is. To top it all off, it said my order would be ready at 10:05. I didn’t leave there with my order until 10:25. I understand it was busy, but from my order time that is an hour wait from order time. I called and she said the manager would refund it, but I’m not holding my breath. They need to figure out how to logistically make things smoother, especially with online orders.

I probably won’t be going back, which is sad because it’s so close to my house and usually has pretty good food.
